Kolkata is located on the south eastern peninsula of India. With a population  of about 4.8 million people, Kolkata is the 7th largest city in India, and the 51st largest city in the world. *

 

Among those millions of people, over 20% are living in poverty, making less than 27 Rs ( 40 U.S cents) a day. *
